About Our Breeding Program

Our breeding program is based on the premise that the national alpaca herd will eventually reach a point where there is enough fleece harvested each year to support a viable fiber industry.  That being said, we also believe that it will still take several years to reach that goal.

In the meantime, we have tasked ourselves to be very selective in our breeding.  At Powder Puff Pacas, we are working toward breeding for finer and denser fleeces in colors light enough to be used in either their natural state or dyed to accommodate the consumer that prefers a wide variety of color in their clothing.
