Fall Farm Tours
We've opened our farm to the public every fall for one weekend for all to come and learn about alpacas, and just enjoy being with them. We offer a range of fun and learning activities for all:
School Outings
We can make an appointment for your school group, church group, scouting group, or even just your family and friends, to visit our farm. With enough advance notice we can tailor the visit to best suit your needs, such as activity baskets for kids, learning material about the alpacas, learn to felt, knit, or crochet, just to name a few.
We were very pleased to host visits for pre-schoolers and elementary school classes. The children and their chaperones went in the pastures with individal bags of carrots and grapes, which they feed to the animals. Some of the children chose to eat the carrots and grapes themselves, while the alpacas were delighted to interract with those that wanted to.
Parades - 2006, 2007, 2008
We love bringing our animals out to parades. As a member of the St. Clair Alpaca Breeders, we put our animals on a float and walk along beside it. We've participated in the Yale Bologna Festival Parade, The Marine City Maritimes Parade, The Romeo Peach Festival Parade, and the Richmond Good Old Days Parade.
Pankow Center Career Expo - 2008
We were thrilled to take our alpacas to the L'anse Creuse Pankow Vocational Center for their Career Expo. There we spoke to high school students, their parents, and their teachers about alpaca farming as consideration for a future vocation.
We were very well received and had the opportunity to answer questions from all that visited our booth.
